Education and Events Manager required
Job Purpose: To develop and implement a co-ordinated education and outreach programme that seeks to encourage interest in and enjoyment by the student population and wider community and to contribute to the sustainability of the Scala. The key task during the initial phase of the post will be developing relationships with schools, other education providers, and communities to market our facilities and to increase revenue generation through the development and delivery of educational programmes and events and fundraising.
Job Duties: Organise and run workshops, projects and events in schools, community groups and businesses with the support of the Film and Media Technician/Instructor · Generate income via fundraising activities and submitting funding bids · Preparing and distributing publicity materials and displays · Develop the Scala’s Education Strategy · Produce educational resources and study packs · Liaise with schools, businesses, LEAs, voluntary/outreach/community groups and other local, national, and international organizations · Organise school visits for programmes, satellite productions and film screenings · Manage budgets · Analyse data and collate information · Attend conferences, meetings and networking events · Organize the Scala Youth Film Festival and create links with youth film festivals UK-wide with the Film and Media Technician/Instructor · Promote film in education · Create a database of contacts To undertake such other reasonable duties as the Line Manger may require from time to time and to review this job description at least annually with the Line Manager. These detailed duties may vary from time to time. This is a six month contract although it is hoped it will becomes permanent.
